End Times

Greek word:  Aion (eon)

definition of aion – “age.”
could be understood as referring to the present age and the age to come, how God deals with his people thru the ages

FAITH:  greek word pistis

The Greek word, which is translated as faith, is pistis (noun) and believe, is translated from pistevo (verb). The word believe (Greek verb “pistevo”), according to Strong’s Greek Dictionary, means: to have faith (in, upon, or with respect to, a person or thing), i.e. credit; by implication, to entrust, (especially one’s spiritual well-being to Christ.) believe, commit, (to trust), put in trust with. “Pistevo” comes from the Greek noun “pistis” which means: persuasion, i.e., credence; moral conviction (of religious truth, or the truthfulness of God or a religious teacher), especially reliance upon Christ for salvation; the system of religious (Gospel) truth itself; assurance, belief, believe, faith. Notice the subtle shades of meaning which are unlocked in the amplified translations:

FAITH:  What makes up our faith?   example:  “I have confidence because I have my faith”

  • security
  • stability (rock)
  • waiting (hope)
  • confidence
  • belief
  • loyalty
  • trust

God comes to us with truths.

Satan comes with lies

Hebrews 11:1

Hebrews 11

Faith in Action

1 Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.

We want to be known as women of faith.  God makes my life worth living, gives purpose.
Just meet people where they are ~ share the word with other’s.
God has already given us a measure of faith, example mustard seed.
What am I going to put my faith in?  I will put my faith in God.

1 Corinthians 12:9

9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit,

All Christians have faith.  Some, however, have the spiritual gift of faith, which is an unusual measure of trust in the power of God.

Hebrews 11

Faith in Action / Great Examples of Faith

1 Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. 2 This is what the ancients were commended for.

3 By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.

4 By faith Abel brought God a better offering than Cain did. By faith he was commended as righteous, when God spoke well of his offerings. And by faith Abel still speaks, even though he is dead.

Faith:  seen & unseen, share with believers & non-believers

I have faith in God that the outcome of a situation will be okay.

Faith is the conviction based on past experience that God’s new and fresh surprises will surely be ours.

The beginning point of faith is believing in God’s character:  He is who he says.  The end point is believing in God’s promises: He will do what he says.  When we believe that God will fulfill his promises even though we don’t see those promises materializing yet, ew domonstrate true faith.

God called the universe into existence out of nothing; he declared that it was to be, and it was.  Our faith is in the God who created the entire universe by his word.  God’s word has awesome  power.  When he speaks, do you listen and respond?  How can you better prepare yourself to respond to God’s word?
