End Times Class Notes Week of 9/15

We started with a brief review from the previous week’s lesson.

Hebrews 13:25

25 Grace be with you all.

Go to Heb 13:25 and add under it a “new” verse 26.

Then add: By faith, say your name.

Remember that you can be part of this “hall of faith.”

We walk by faith, not by sight

we desire to seek Him, supernatural realm – the unseen world.

God will open your eyes and ears to hear things in the supernatural.

God always has a more grand and better plan for us.

Chronos:  days of the week.  Chronological order.

Kairos:  it’s way more than an ordinary day.  A special place in time for you to hear or see.

The ‘prophets’ show us what we haven’t seen, takes special eyes/ears!!!

If He can trust you with something small (whatever is in your hand at the moment), image how He will trust you with something greater!  You will begin to see and hear things you had not noticed before.  This can even happen to you on the evening news.

Fig Tree:  symbolizes Israel (East)

Other Trees:   Rest of the Nations

Israel

1948:  became a nation

1967:  6-day war, took control Gaze Strip

There is a distinction being made.

The Coming of the Lord is different than the “End Times” when the verses are referencing the End of Jerusalem or the Temple that was destroyed in 70 A.D.

Names for GENERATIONS:

1914  Lost

1923  Greatest

1935  Silent

1955  Baby Boomers

1968  Gen X Busters

1975  Gen Y

1992  Gen Z

Urgency of understanding “end times”

Jews – 52 years (generation)     Born 1967 ,  2019  a “guess” of end time:  2047

Or if you count from 1948 – when Israel (the fig tree that God told us to keep our eyes on) then HE can return during all our of life times.

Philippians 4:11

11 I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.

If you always want more, ask God to remove that desire and teach you contentment in every circumstance.  He will supply all your needs, but in a way that he knows is best for you.

Not matter what is coming – we can learn to be content.

2 Timothy 3

1 But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days.

Paul’s reference to the “last days” reveals his sense of urgency.   The last days began after Jesus resurrection when the Holy Spirit came upon the believers at Pentecost.   The “last days” will continue until Christ’s second coming.  This means that we are living in the last days.  So we should make the most of the time that God has given us.  Share the gospel.  Remain faithful.

Time line drawn on the board. Jesus birth 1AD – 30 (Jesus is revealed)    70 Pentecost   90 John the elder   2011 NOW

(importance of 70AD)

1 Peter 1:13-21

13 Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming. 14 As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. 15 But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; 16 for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”

17 Since you call on a Father who judges each person’s work impartially, live out your time as foreigners here in reverent fear. 18 For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. 20 He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake. 21 Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God.

Isaiah 40:6

6 A voice says, “Cry out.”
And I said, “What shall I cry?”

“All people are like grass,
and all their faithfulness is like the flowers of the field.

Jude 1:17-25

A Call to Persevere

17 But, dear friends, remember what the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ foretold. 18 They said to you, “In the last times there will be scoffers who will follow their own ungodly desires.” 19 These are the people who divide you, who follow mere natural instincts and do not have the Spirit.

20 But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, 21 keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.

22 Be merciful to those who doubt; 23 save others by snatching them from the fire; to others show mercy, mixed with fear—hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh.

Doxology

24 To him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy— 25 to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.

Acts 2:15-21

New International Version (NIV)

15 These people are not drunk, as you suppose. It’s only nine in the morning! 16 No, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:

17 “‘In the last days, God says,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your young men will see visions,
your old men will dream dreams.
18 Even on my servants, both men and women,
I will pour out my Spirit in those days,
and they will prophesy.
19 I will show wonders in the heavens above
and signs on the earth below,
blood and fire and billows of smoke.
20 The sun will be turned to darkness
and the moon to blood
before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord.
21 And everyone who calls
on the name of the Lord will be saved.’
